		<description>Thanks for your comment. I was reporting what a lot of the old-timers were saying to us at a key industry event. We found it kind of a defeatist attitude, too. The industry leaders and organizations need new blood, vision and energy. Where the current leadership sees the decline of interest, Cleverwerx sees excitement and opportunity.  In recent years Karen has trained young artists who went on to fame and fortune in the jewelry design world.</description>

		<description>I am confused and irritated by this post. As a young metalsmith and educator, I am aware of much emerging talent who work both with their hands and computers. I am also aware of many &quot;old timers&quot; who work digitally. 
It is not fair to assume that the lack of young designers at high end craft shows and conventions means the talent doesn&#039;t exist. In light of the recession, I don&#039;t blame them for choosing not to pay thousands of dollars to participate in craft shows when there are low cost, digital methods of displaying their work.
I would be happy to represent my generation at conferences, however, I cannot afford to go. I am sure other young artists feel the same way.</description>
