Karen Christian's private instruction has motivated me to move forward with my jewelry fabrication. She has taught me solid soldering principles in theory and in practice which have allowed me to construct solid functional pieces with true confidence.

Her wealth of knowledge is abundant which she so generously shares without hesitation. Whatever I am looking for in the design process, starting with fabrication and good bench mechanics she has guided me through.

Karen has taught me to embrace the areas of the process that I do not enjoy, and to learn from those repetitive tasks. A true teacher in every sense of the word, she has conveyed to me that it is the journey and not the destination that is to be valued. The finished piece is truly the bonus, because it is all about the process to get to that treasured moment.

A happy student,
Mary Ann Albis
